Sūtra House provides publishing services, including but not limited to:
- Manuscript review and evaluation
- Editorial services
- Book design and typesetting
- Publishing and distribution services
- Pre-order and book sales
- Author support and marketing services
3. Manuscript Submissions
3.1 Submission Process
When you submit a manuscript to Sūtra House:
- You represent that you are the author or have authorization to submit the work
- You grant us the right to review and evaluate your submission
- You understand that submission does not guarantee publication
- You retain all rights to your work until a publishing agreement is executed
3.2 Review Process
We review submissions at our discretion. We are not obligated to provide feedback or reasons for rejection. Review timelines may vary, and we do not guarantee response times.
4. Publishing Agreements
If we decide to publish your work, we will provide a separate publishing agreement that outlines specific terms, including rights, royalties, distribution, and other publishing details. These Terms of Service do not constitute a publishing agreement.
5. Book Purchases and Pre-Orders
5.1 Orders
When you place an order for books or pre-orders:
- You agree to pay the listed price plus applicable taxes and shipping fees
- All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders at our discretion
- Pre-orders are subject to availability and release dates
5.2 Payment
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We are not responsible for payment processing errors or issues.
5.3 Shipping
Shipping costs are calculated based on destination and book weight. We use USPS Media Mail for physical book shipments. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers.
5.4 Returns and Refunds
Returns and refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. For pre-orders, refunds may be available until the release date. Contact us at hello@sutrahouse.com for return requests.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of your original works. By submitting content to us, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute your content as necessary to provide our services.
