Book Description

Carolyn has spent decades in the theater world, so when her new department chair fails to recognize her from their shared past, the question isn't just professional—it's existential. Set in and around a Philadelphia cemetery, where an elderly fox watches the living grapple with loss from her den below, How Do I Know You? weaves together a community of characters navigating memory, mortality, and belonging. Kate McGrath's literary debut asks what it means to be known—and what happens when we're not.
